A buffalo is big but look at it in comparison to the elephant |
Just before the rains October is a good month for game viewing before the landscape becomes verdant again |
Going on safari with a Zimbabwean trained professional guide (considered to be amongst the best in Africa) is more than just a simple safari at Camp Hwange. There are no set times or set duration of a drive here - as we experienced on Thursday. It's all really exciting and depends on movement of game and what the client wants to do. We never got the chance to do a walking safari (actually not true as we had the choice to do so). Tracking game by foot will have to wait as we were far more keen to actually see lion and painted dog where there had been an actual visual.

Apart from being a wealth of knowledge about the animals and birds our guides, apart from ensuring that we are safe, are also concerned about the Park as a whole and work with others to ensure that it will continue to be a great place for wildlife viewing. Sightings and photos of animals of interest (e.g. wounded) are shared with others.
