The beginning of an adventure

Everything has a beginning and I could say that this is it - the start of a blog about our forthcoming trip to Zimbabwe.

Who are we? - me and my sister in law, Penny; one of us returning to what was once home and the other visiting for the very first time.

So another beginning could be why we are going - that beginning began back in the early Seventies (1972) when my husband travelled down through Africa in a landrover and then decided to settle in Rhodesia once that trip was over.

Ten years later in Victoria Falls he met me and we got married.  This was now newly independent Zimbabwe where we lived and brought up our children over the next 30 odd years.  During that time, although other members of the family visited us Penny never did.  And so now is the time! It's a year since Boots (Bill, William) died and so we are very soon headed to the sun for an adventure exploring and reminiscing Boots and all
